Todd Von Deak, MBA, CAE
Supporting causes that positively impact family and friends makes it easy to love working with associations and nonprofit groups.
I have spent nearly 20 years in key roles at nonprofit organizations in multiple industries. This experience has afforded me a diverse perspective on the strategic and day-to-day challenges of growing membership, driving engagement, leveraging technology, securing funding and managing growth.
My teams and I have enjoyed many accomplishments, with some of the most satisfying experiences coming about when plans could not be executed as envisioned. Over the years we’ve helped organizations develop strategies to reach milestones in membership, sell out attendance to meetings and provide strategic answers to seemingly simple questions with major implications.
Contributing to the future of the nonprofit and association management professions gives me a great sense of satisfaction. That’s why I volunteer on the national (American Society of Association Executives) and regional (Mid-Atlantic Society of Association Executives) levels. I also regularly present at industry conferences including ASAE’s Membership, Marketing and Communications Conference.
Here in Philadelphia, my wife and I are involved with Drexel University, where we earned our MBAs. I am proud to be part of the adjunct faculty in the business school where I serve on the curriculum committee for the general business program. I also serve on a number of advisory boards including the Mid-Atlantic Society of Association Executives (MASAE).
My career is centered around serving associations and nonprofits, which is why I pursued an MBA and earned my Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential. It is also why I am pursuing a doctoral degree from Temple University with a research focus on knowledge sharing.
Sharing my experiences and helping your organization achieve success is my passion. A copy of my resume is available online. I look forward to working together.
