Michele Von Deak
As a principal at TVD Associates, Inc., I am intimately involved in all aspects of the firm’s relationship with its clients, along with general operations of the business. Prior to joining TVDA, I spent nearly two decades working in nonprofit organizations, developing programs and strategies, raising funds, strengthening relationships with key constituencies, and managing events. In the process I’ve learned how to tackle the challenges nonprofits and associations face today, as well as to craft customized opportunities for growth and improved efficiencies. I am thrilled to incorporate this experience into my work with TVDA’s broad range of clients.
As part of my responsibilities as Senior Director of Development for Historic Philadelphia, Inc., I created and implemented all aspects of a comprehensive fundraising strategy, oversaw two successful capital redevelopment campaigns, increased corporate sponsorships and private/foundational contributions, and launched the organization’s first fundraising auction and dinner, “An Evening in Franklin Square.” Strengthening greater Philadelphia’s role as a premier destination to experience American history—while working with a limited annual budget—was an indelible experience.
My time with the Foundation at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC, strengthened my understanding of the healthcare field and offered me keen insight into the day-to-day efforts and fiscal responsibility necessary to be successful as the fundraising arm of a major medical center. And my affiliation with the Children’s Circle of Care North American Leadership Conference gave me the practical, hands-on experience in conference development and event planning that informs my work to this day.
I strive to give back to the community in which I live and work. I belong to the Pennsylvania Society and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. I am also proud to remain an active member of Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business Alumni Council after pursuing my MBA there.
Being able to share with TVDA’s clients the knowledge and skills that I’ve gained throughout my career is enormously gratifying and exciting. You can see my resume here. I look forward to learning how we can best serve your organization.
